In most organisations governance is an annual exercise, done for an auditor and then filed. That is the part we wanted to change. You should be able to see where you stand on any given day, and be able to prove it.

The pattern was the same everywhere we worked. Organisations knew what they owed. They had the policies, the registers and the minutes. What they did not have was a way to see all of it at once, scored against every framework that applied to them, without rebuilding the picture by hand each time somebody asked for it.
